Bandwidth
What is Bandwidth?
Bandwidth is the data transfer capacity required to stream high-quality video. On cam sites, both viewers and performers need sufficient bandwidth for smooth, clear live cam streams; low bandwidth leads to lag, buffering, or dropped quality.
For viewers on a live cam site, bandwidth determines how well the stream loads. Standard definition may need only 1–2 Mbps, while HD streaming often needs 5 Mbps or more, and 4K streaming can require 15–25 Mbps. If your connection is slow or shared, the platform may automatically lower your stream quality to avoid buffering. For performers broadcasting on adult cam sites, upload bandwidth is critical: they need a stable upload speed (often 5–10 Mbps or higher for HD) so their feed reaches viewers without stuttering.
When comparing the best cam sites, stream quality and reliability depend partly on the platform's infrastructure and partly on your own bandwidth. Using a wired connection, closing other heavy apps, and choosing a quality tier that matches your connection can improve your experience.
