IP Blocking

What is IP Blocking?

IP blocking on cam sites is a feature that lets models (or the platform) block viewers from specific geographic regions or IP addresses. It's used for safety, privacy, and content licensing on live cam and adult cam platforms.

How IP blocking works: when a viewer connects to a cam site, their IP address reveals their approximate location. Models or sites can block entire countries or regions (e.g., "no viewers from country X") so that users there can't see their room or profile. Individual IPs can sometimes be blocked too—for example, to stop a specific harasser who creates new accounts. Viewers in blocked regions typically see a message that the stream isn't available in their area. VPNs can circumvent geographic blocks (though some sites block known VPN IPs), and blocking by country is often related to legal or payment restrictions rather than performer preference alone.

If you're a performer, IP blocking gives you control over who can access your stream. If you're a viewer and find yourself blocked, it may be due to region or platform policy rather than a personal block. For more on safety and privacy, see our entries on block list, VPN, and anonymity.
