VPN
What is VPN?
A VPN (virtual private network) is a service that masks your IP address and location by routing your traffic through another server. Many viewers and performers use a VPN when accessing cam sites to enhance privacy and security on live cam and adult cam platforms.
How a VPN works with cam sites: when you connect to a VPN, your internet traffic goes to the VPN provider's server first, then to the cam site. The site sees the VPN server's IP and location, not yours. That can help with anonymity and with accessing cam sites from regions where they might be restricted. VPNs also add a layer of encryption between you and the VPN server, which can help on public Wi-Fi. Not all cam sites allow VPNs—some block known VPN IPs to enforce regional restrictions or prevent abuse. The best cam sites that care about privacy often don't block reputable VPNs.
If you use a VPN for cam sites, choose a provider with a clear no-logs policy and good speed. For more on privacy, see our entries on anonymity, encryption, and discreet billing.
